JawharJawhar is an untouched hill station and a tribal kingdom located just 39km from Nashik. The lush greenery, striking flora fauna and a pleasant climate makes Jawhar a perfect weekend destination. Being on an altitude of 518m the temperature here is mostly in the range of 25°C to 30°C. Yet the best time to enjoy Jawhar to its fullest is from September to may.

Jawhar is well known the world over for its vibrant Warli paintings. The other prime attractions include:

  • Jai Vilas Palace: Jawhar was a princely state ruled by the Munke family. A visit to the royal home enriches one with the knowledge of the true tribal way of life.
  • Bhupatgad: The small fort is a must see.
  • Dadar-Kopra Falls: The mesmerizing horse shoe shaped fall is situated just 25 kilometers before Jawahar.
  • Shirpamal: The historic spot where Shivaji camped on his way to Surat.
  • Other attractions: The Jai Sagar Lake, Hanuman Point and Sunset Point, Kohoj Hill fort, Peshwa temple.
