Samarth Ramdas Swami Math -TakliTakli is a small village located at about 7km from Nashik which is known as the place of Saint Samarth Ramdas. He was a prominent Marathi saint and religious poet. But he is well known as the spiritual Guru (teacher) of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

Shri Samartha Ramdas Swami lived from 1621 to 1633 in Takli. He was a devotee of Lord Hanuman and Lord Rama. He was a bramhachari (bachelor) all through his life and had actually run away from his marriage to keep himself free from the bonds of Maya, and attain self realization. He also practiced physical yoga exercises, Surya namaskara being his favorite as well as meditation.

Samarth Ramdas built 12 Hanuman temples in Maharashtra. He also contributed to Marathi literature through his works like Shri Mana-che Shlok, Dasbodh, Shri Ma-ruti Stotra. The most well known prayer to Lord Ganesh Sukhkarta- Dukhharta- Va-rta- Vighna-chi.
