 Tapovan is a mesmerizing spot covered with lush greenery in Nashik. It is believed that it was once part of holy Dandakaranya forest with the Godavari flowing nearby. This place has a close association with the epic Ramayana. Long years ago Tapovan was meant for mediation by great sages hence the name (Tapa-mediate). Tapovan is the place where Lord Ram’s brother Laxman cut off the nose of Ravana’s sister Shurpanakha. The Laxminarayan temple situated near it also a place worth visit.
